After our wedding, my husband and I decided we wanted to go a Carribean Island for our honey moon. He and I absolutely LOVE the Caribbean Islands! He even proposed in the Bahamas. 😉 After doing a lot of research and price comparison, we decided that Jamaica was it!
Here are a few tips and some of our experiences while going to Jamaica. This was one of the BEST trips we’ve ever taken.
Do research
We started going on many vacations a few years ago. I’m usually the person who books vacations because I find the best deals. When traveling to a resort we ONLY book All-Inclusive deals. You get the most bang for your buck! I also price watch for weeks. I found that the most seamless and sometimes very affordable option for all inclusive vacations is to use Bookit.com. This is a great choice if you don’t want to use a travel agent. It’s been my go-to vacation website. They even provide a payment plan option, called Bookit.com’s Pay Delay. This is an option where you can split your trip cost into easy installments. They usually ask for you to pay just for the flights first if you choose this option. We try to plan our vacations 3-6 months in advance so it works well for us.

After much research and price comparison on Bookit, we finally decided on a beautiful destination! We chose Secrets Wild Orchid- All inclusive, adults only resort. Jamaica, here we come!
Time to pack
I can do an entire article on packing. Most women pack waaayyyy to much for any trip. Why can’t I bring 30 swimsuits? I can never have too many outfits. I clearly have to change my outfit three times a day every day that we are there…..DUH. lol. Also, because I create ALL THE TIME, I may even make a few outfits while I’m there. Ha!

Hello, Jamaica!
Arriving in Montego Bay, Jamaica was a breath of fresh air! Literally. We arrived to sunny skies, friendly people and the ocean! I LOVE the ocean. After checking in the resort they greet you with cocktails. Most likely, it will be rum punch. Our room was ocean view and they upgraded us because it was our honeymoon.
Tip: Tell everyone that it’s your honeymoon to get free stuff!!
Our room included a welcome bottle of sparking wine, mimosa breakfast in bed and romantic turn down Service. It was a DREAM!
Here are a few must do tips to make your trip amazing:
Take advantage of the ALL INCLUSIVE! Breakfast, lunch and dinner should be included in your package.
Alcoholic beverages are also included. Enjoy loves.
Go to the pool!
Tip: Ask the bartender for a steel bottom. 😉
There should be a buffet, quick bites, and more elegant restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation before you go to the nicer restaurant.
The JERK CHICKEN MAN! OMG. This was the BEST jerk chicken I’ve had in my entire life. We were literally chasing him down every day. LOL. There is a jerk chicken man with fresh hot steaming chicken with a cart. He pushes it around in certain times of the day. I still dream of this chicken. It was THAT good.
Enjoy the ocean! This is my favorite part. Take pictures, relax on the beach, swim with your love. Just relax.
Go to the club and dance the night away! So there is usually a club on the resort. They played reggae and hip hop when we were there. Sometimes they even have beach parties at night!
There are some of resort excursions that are included. Some are not. Take advantage if you are into that sort of thing. If you just want to relax. The resort is just fine.
Take LOTS of pictures and videos. Create the memories you will never forget!
