Growing up, my aspirations were centered around becoming a model and a designer. I reminisce about my petite stature, I was so small that I had to sew all my pants at the waist because they simply didn’t fit. lol
Creativity, style, and DIY projects were ingrained in my family’s lineage. My grandmother, a seamstress who owned her own drapery company, and her mother, who dedicated over 40 years as a seamstress for Chrysler, are just a glimpse into the creative roots on my mother’s side. On my father’s side, his mother owned a boutique, and his father owned a barber shop. I am fortunate to hail from two profoundly creative families.
The innate ability to create came naturally to me, and I always knew my career would involve harnessing all my creative gifts. After obtaining my fashion degree, I ventured into various roles, spanning marketing, sales, retail, lifestyle modeling, product photography, styling and more – absorbing knowledge and skills at every turn.
I noticed that there was a major shift happening in the fashion industry back then. The closure of not one, but two of my full time fashion jobs served as a pivotal moment, prompting me to recognize the need for the fashion industry to adapt to the evolving times. This realization prompted the launch of my website and blog. Diving into the dynamics of e-commerce, I understood the importance of establishing an online presence.
This marked a shift from lifestyle modeling to content creation, brick-and-mortar retail sales to e-commerce, and in-store merchandising to online merchandising. Adapting to the changing landscape, I embraced the digital realm and found new avenues for my creative pursuits. I’m slowly building a personal creative brand while exploring remote creative digital marketing roles. I am constantly evolving in this creative world and I am here for all of it!
